Snow Day

“Hey, Susie Snowboard! It’s snowing out today! Let’s go hit the city stoops!”

“Weeeeeee! Nothing like stoop skiing and snowboarding!”

Later that day……….

Happy Thanksgiving

Duck #1: “I knew having pasta with marinara sauce was a bad idea for Thanksgiving dinner!”

Duck #2: “Still, there’s no way I was going to eat turkey! That’s just wrong!”

Blair Witch Project…..with ducks of course.

“It was my fault. I was the one that said “keep going south.” I was the one who said that we were not lost. It was my fault, because it was my project. I don’t know what’s out there. We are all just sitting ducks!”

Great British Duck Race 2009

On September 6th, 2009 the third anual Great British Duck Race took place down the River Thames. They aimed to break their world record of 175, 000 ducks raced down the river last year to raise money for local charities such as the NSPCC, Cancer Research UK, Cats Protection, MacMillan Cancer Support, Diabetes UK, BEN, Shelter, FSID, BBC Children in Need, and Dogs Trust among many others. Happily the record was broken as 205,000 raced down the river this year! Many thanks to my flickr Paul Mansfield for taking this duck-tacular picture of the ducks racing down the River Thames and under the Hampton Court Bridge. You can see more pictures of the duck race taken by Paul here.

It’s National Donut Day!

In the wee hours of the morning Chef Duck hears a ruckus in the kitchen…

Chef Duck: “What’s all the fuss about, Pastry Chef?”
Pastry Chef Duck: “It’s National Donut Day! Gotta make the donuts..gotta make the donuts…gotta make the donuts…”

Duck, Duck, Goose

There is never a dull moment living in NYC…even when running errands. I was in a store just the other day that sells lots of random stuff looking for a bingo game (more about that later) and ended up coming out with this rare find. It’s a card game for little kids called “Duck, Duck, Goose.” I couldn’t help getting excited about it because of the ducks (imagine that) and the little goose.

“Quack, quack, honk!”
