On September 6th, 2009 the third anual Great British Duck Race took place down the River Thames. They aimed to break their world record of 175, 000 ducks raced down the river last year to raise money for local charities such as the NSPCC, Cancer Research UK, Cats Protection, MacMillan Cancer Support, Diabetes UK, BEN, Shelter, FSID, BBC Children in Need, and Dogs Trust among many others. Happily the record was broken as 205,000 raced down the river this year! Many thanks to my flickr Paul Mansfield for taking this duck-tacular picture of the ducks racing down the River Thames and under the Hampton Court Bridge. You can see more pictures of the duck race taken by Paul here.
